MAHI International welcomes to Pohnpei the return of Dr. Robert Wresch, ophthalmologist and his wife Betty Jo, diabetes educator from the Guam SDA Clinic. Over this long weekend, executive director John Schroer takes Dr. Wresch and Betty Jo to Pohnpei's outer island of Sapwuafik along with volunteer nurse Jeffrey Georges and assistant Nick Boyer. They are providing this outer island community with eye and overall health assessment clinics.

The eye examinations Dr. Wresch is conducting while on the outer island is in preparation for the Ophthalmology Surgery Team from the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center and Guam SDA Clinic that is visiting Micronesia in July 2014. This team hopes to restore sight to cataract pterygium patients. MAHI International has collaborated with the Moran Eye Center and healthcare professionals from Guam SDA Clinic to establish annual eye care throughout Micronesia.
