Upon conclusion of the first rheumatic heart disease screening, Roger Moore and Dr. Payne Perman presented the results of their work to the FSM and the Pohnpei State government officials including the VP of the FSM and the Governor of Pohnpei. There were 6 schools included in the screening, totaling 1,881 local children served. During the month of March 2016, MAHI International and its partners conducted the first school screening for rheumatic heart disease. We invited and sponsored expert sonographer Roger Moore to work alongside Dr. Payne Perman to identify unknown RHD cases in the local schools.
